Intraoral Camera
Annapolis, MD

Smiling woman's teeth being scanned with intraoral camera at Djawdan Center for Implant and Restorative Dentistry. When it comes to any type of dental procedure, it is essential that we can see what is going on and what we are doing. Looking inside of a mouth is not easy. Fortunately, there is a simple device that has made diagnostic technology simpler for us here at Djawdan Center for Implant and Restorative Dentistry to be able to take a better look inside your mouth. That device is an intraoral camera.

What Is an Intraoral Camera Used For?

An intraoral camera can help us to better see inside your mouth. It can be used during exams and oral surgery as well. An intraoral camera is a small, thin device that we will stick into your mouth. We will then turn on a monitor so that we will be able to see what is going on. We can easily move the camera around so that we will be able to get a good look at all parts of your mouth. We can zoom in if we need to see something better. This helps us with all parts of your visit.

Another thing that is nice about using an intraoral camera is that we can also show you what is going on. We want to make sure that you see any problem that we are going to fix. Since we will have the monitor right there, we can angle it so that you can see the screen. We will then show you what the problem is and then explain what we will need to do to fix it. We think that it is important that you be well informed, and an intraoral camera can help with that.

When we are planning a procedure that will not take place that day, an intraoral camera can be invaluable. We will take video of your mouth, and then we will be able to look it over so that we will be able to make plans for the procedure. We will know exactly what we are dealing with, which will help us to find the best way to treat you. The images from an intraoral camera can also be helpful if we need to consult with someone else. In the past when we needed to bring someone else in for a consultation, the patient needed to be there. That is not the case with an intraoral camera, because we will already have all of the information that we need.

An intraoral camera is also a great teaching tool. They are used in dental schools to help the students as they learn. If you are coming into our office, do not be surprised if we use an intraoral camera. Here at Djawdan Center for Implant and Restorative Dentistry, we use all the tools that we can to treat you the best way. Your oral health is our top priority. The number to call if you need to make an appointment is (443) 569-8764. The use of an intraoral camera is painless, and we will both have a better idea of what is going on.
